A New Day In A New Week 1/24/2022

 Good Morning,

Monday arrived right on time and it looks like my drive might be a little slippery this  morning. A hot cup of Door County Mocha Mint Coffee is within my reach. It is time to write.

Have you ever woke up on any given morning and your tongue feels like puppies with chapped feet ran across your tongue all night? You don't like the taste in your mouth and one of your first acts of a new day is to grab that tooth brush and clean your tongue and teeth.

I struggle to make this analogy but here goes. I have also risen from sleep and asked myself a question. For instance, "Why did I do that yesterday? Why did I say that to someone? What is wrong with me?" Our actions from the day before might leave a bad taste in our mouths the next day. Now, no doubt if we were wrong and need to make things right with anyone, that is on us and needs to be done as soon as possible.

We also need to make things right with God. When we get sideways with another person and begin to resemble the South bound part of a donkey walking backwards, we also need to ask God to forgive us. But, what we can count on is that God knows we are weak and we will screw up. Once we go to Him and ask to be forgiven with the right attitude ( contrition and humility) we ARE forgiven. God does not hold our sins over our heads for eternity. He loves us and desires for us to not be consumed by guilt and fear.

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

What a wonderful, comforting thought, to know that when we wake up and the mercies of God have been refreshed in our lives. This power never runs out on the ability of God to forgive and cleanse us of our wrongs.

So wake up and hit that ground today, moving in a positive direction and don't make the same mistakes of  yesterday.

God bless,

Marty
