Sacrifce is Worship 10/31/2012

Good Morning,
Drinking some Bigby's Caramel Apple Coffee this morning.

In our text today there can be found many messages. Today we will go a road that I believe we are all gifted in, helping one another. We all possess that gift.

Romans 12:1
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God,, this is your true and proper worship.

We worship God in many ways, song, preaching, tithing, and prayer are just some of the things we might do. One way we tend to forget is obedience! Yes obedience. God entrusts us daily to the people we meet and to encounters that come our way. Some of the people might need help, friendship, prayer, your time, ministry, Sunday School Teachers, or Jesus as Savior and Lord. These encounters cost time and possibly some sweat. But if we are to obey and make obedience part of our daily worship we will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and jump in. Sacrifice of time, body and energy, it's a form of worship. Oh, by the way, you can do this any day. Not just on Sunday. Roll out worship all week long.
God bless,
Marty

Hurricane Sandy 10/30/2012

Good morning,
I find myself needing some "comfort coffee" today. My cup is filled with Door County Maple Coffee. I don"t know why but the comfort flavor for me has always been maple.

The East Coast of the United States is being pounded by Hurricane Sandy. Every news cast is full of destructive views with storm damage. Last week my town mourned another mass shooting. People ask me why these things happen. I answer from the heart. "I am not sure."

But I know this, believe this, eat and sleep this. God is on His throne, and despite what we see and hear He is sovereign.

Gen. 1:1 In the beginning  God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen. 1:31 And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.

James 5:13-18
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses[e] to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

I also believe that at times like this the answer to the question is to pray for one another. I only know a few people on the East Coast, but I know I can pray for all of them and be heard by our God. I can pray for the single mom, her scared kids, the elderly, the gang banger, the officials, and the health workers. My prayers and yours can be said for all. I can pray for their safety, their provisions, their fear and hurts. I can pray for the comfort of those who lost dear ones in the shooting. All that being said, we can call out to God and then trust that He knows best.
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways

    declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

If God can create the world and all that is in it, and I believe He did. We need to trust Him now. Pray with me won't you?

God bless,
Marty

Looking for Work 10/29/2012

Good Morning,

My coffee today is Bigby Pumpkin! Fall is really in the air. Had a small fire in the fireplace last night. We really enjoy the warmth and comfort.

Proverbs 18:9
One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.

Today is Monday and by most standards the start of the work week, If you are headed to work count your blessings to be employed. Each day we are paid for our time and talent. We should be worthy of our hire. This means doing all things asked of us, not grumbling or complaining. We should earn every dollar we receive. This means, no long lunches, ending your break on time, working as hard as you can, and most of all take pride in your work and do the best job you can.

Too many people quit looking for work when they find a job. Work for your employer as if your work were your own business!

If you are in need of prayer, just leave a short comment and you will be prayed for.

Have a great day.

Ducks 10/27/2012

Good afternoon,

I was blessed to be able to hunt some ducks this morning with my nephew Nick. We went out early in the AM and it was cold. Of course we had a thermos full of Door County Cherry Coffee.

What I saw this morning was a beautiful sunrise on a lake. It made me feel blessed to be up and out. I realized that at that moment God knew where I was and He painted his chapel with a little fog and a pink sunrise. He knew what I would see.

I was warmed by the thought that I shared this view with Him. It renewed a weak body and a tired spirit.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Oh by the way we shot a few ducks.
God bless,

Friday Fish Fry 10/26/2012

Good Evening,
I will be duck hunting in the morning and my coffee will be Door County Cherry. Can't wait!!!

Jesus Appears to His Disciples Luke 24:36-43

36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” 37 But they were startled and )frightened and )thought they saw a spirit. 38 And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they still disbelieved )for joy and were marveling, )he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,43 and he took it and ate before them.

Well we made it to Friday. In Wisconsin it is a Friday custom for folks to go out for a "Fish Fry". This has been a tradition as long as I can remember. Maybe Friday in your city has a different custom. It might be the local high school football or basketball game and a pizza. Here is my challenge. Let me know what your custom is.

What can we learn about Jesus today? He enjoyed company, meals and fellowship. One of the first things we read about him in His adult life was that Jesus went to a wedding. I am not suggesting we think of Jesus as a "party animal" but rather as our God who enjoys good things and has taught us to enjoy the good things He provides. But notice Jesus enjoyed these things with others. If you are going out, enjoy the company of another person, another couple, or another family. If you have been blessed to do so, offer to treat the other party. If not make it a separate bill night. But enjoy one another. Why? Because Jesus did!

Here is a fish recipe you might enjoy. Take a thumb sized piece of salmon. Place a 1/4 slice of jalapeno pepper on the fish. Wrap the fish and jalapeno with a slice of bacon. Push a tooth pick through the center. Grill the "fish popper" until the bacon is 99% done. Place a dollop of your favorite barbecue sauce onto the popper. Grill for a minute more and serve.

Happy Friday. God bless.

Assemble!!! 10/25/2012

Good evening,
Last night it was unusually warm in Wisconsin. We like to say if you don't like the weather in Wisconsin, be patient it will change tomorrow. Tonight the temperatures dropped and it looks like it will be "duck hunting," weather tomorrow. Cold and nasty! My coffee will be Bigby's Salted Caramel".

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25

Throughout my life I have heard people say that they should leave their church for many reasons. It is not too often that I hear the "God called them elsewhere". I have heard, "I am not being fed, the music does nothing for me, the church is full of hypocrites, I cannot relate to the Pastor's messages, the people are not friendly, not enough people my age, or last but not least the building.

I am here to say that  when I hear those statements I begin to pray. Because what I am really hearing is an excuse, and it is only hiding a cold heart. Usually when a Christian loses his love for the members and leaders of a church he or she is rationalizing his or her own poor relationship skills with people and with God.
If our Christianity depends upon the pastor's preaching, then we are a long way from being where we should be. If you do not have a way of life that leads daily to the Well of God you will never be satisfied at any church.
If we eat three meals a day and there are seven days in a week, we then eat 21 meals in a week. Would you sit down and eat all 21 on Sunday and starve the rest of the week? No we would not. Yet many expect to not spiritually feed themselves all week and hope that the big Sunday service will take the place of what they missed all week. If we actually ate our food that way we would get sick on Sunday from overeating. Maybe the food for that day might not be what we prefer. So we search elsewhere.
God called you to a church. Only let God call you out. If you have issues where you hang your church hat it is probably you. We should not forsake gathering together. We gather to bless each other and worship God.
We should ask "God, please make me a blessing today at church". With that attitude you will be fed. It takes the focus off of you and puts it on others. If you desire prayer leave a comment just asking for prayer. Details are not important. God will know, and you will be prayed for.

Dine right!
God bless.

Not Forgotten 10/24/2012

Good evening,
Warm night in Wisconsin. Have to admit that the unusually warm weather changed my coffee choice for tomorrow morning. Breaking out the Door County Coconut! The Pot is all set for morning.

Ever have one of those days, months, or years? It just feels like you have been forgotten? Maybe the invitation you were hoping for did not come. Maybe no one included you in a group outing. Someone else got the job. Seems as if the post office lost your address on your birthday. Maybe you have been working hard and your friends don't check on you to see how it is going. You know the feeling?
I am here to tell you that God never forgets you. If he had a refrigerator your picture would be on it. If He had a calendar your birthday would be circled. How do I know that? He tells us so.

Isaiah 49:15-16  Can a nursing woman forget her nursing child? And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget. Yet I will not forget you.
16 See, I have carved you on the palms of My hands; You are continually before Me.

God cares and knows right where you are. He is waiting to hear from you.

God bless,
If you need prayer just leave a comment. I promise you will get prayed for.

Conceal Carry 10/23/2012

Good Evening,
Just readied my coffee pot with Door County Cherry Creme for tomorrow morning. I hope your coffee will be as tasty as mine.

Many states in America have adopted "Conceal Carry Laws". This enables a citizen to legally carry a weapon. Many states require the licensee to attend a class in order to carry a gun. Target ranges are full of people practicing their shooting skills.

I was thinking about conceal carry for myself. But in this context,  I was thinking about the spiritual battles we go through each day. A long time ago, even before conceal carry was legalized with a gun I knew that I had to arm myself daily for spiritual battles, I had to conceal and carry. I must admit that I own several Bibles, but don't always have one in my hand. I often felt like a man in a gun fight but I didn't have a gun when temptation, discouragement, anger, depression, disappointments or other spiritual battles came my way.
But how do we arm ourselves for spiritual battle?
Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.
Memorize Scripture!
When the old Devil sneaks up and attacks, you can draw a mean Revelation 20:15.
Or a loaded Philippians 4:13. Imagine the fear he has when we fight back with the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is a living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.

Arm yourself for the battle and have no fear! Psalm 27:1  The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?

God bless, aim high

Shut Up Juice 10/22/2012

Good evening,
My coffee pot is ready for tomorrow. One big steaming hot cup of Door County Maple will be warming up in the morning.
Proverbs 21:23 Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.

I coined a phrase a few years ago and just recently used it in a message I gave on how to get along with people. "Just take a big drink of shut up juice".

We must all realize that we are not perfect and neither is anyone else. So if we are not perfect, shouldn't we just cut each other some slack.. Instead of always pointing out faults or issues can't we just hold our tongue?

God says it would be best to guard our mouths. Instead of arguing with Him, just take a big drink of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . After all He is perfect and we should obey His advice.

God bless,
Marty

Spiritual Health 10/19/2012

Good Evening ,
It is late and I am running behind today. But my coffee pot is set for 5 AM and a big cup of Bigby Caramel Coffee will be in my hand on the way out the door.

Good physical health is one of life's most cherished gifts. This is true for everyone. Today I want to talk about another kind of health. SPIRITUAL HEALTH.

The first mark of Spiritual Health is to believe on Jesus Christ and to accept Him as your Savior.
If you have never received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you must first of all be born again, born from above, born of the Spirit of God. You are dead in sins, and you need new life. Jesus himself said: I have come that they may have life. and have it more abundantly. John 10:10
The Bible tells us in Romans 10:13 that "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Doing that, you become a member of God's family. You are saved from your sins. You are given new life. With Christ dwelling within, and by the power of the Holy Spirit you are given strength to also repent and have victory over your sins. You made the first and most important step to being Spiritually healthy.
You might say. "But I am there already". Well this is one time where it is morally correct, legal, and just plain ok to share a pill with others. Many of us take vitamins for our physical health. Today consider this a "GOSPILL" and pass on the message of Spiritual Health to someone in need.
Have a great Friday

When God Calls 10/18/2012

Good evening,
Coffee pot is ready for tomorrow. Door County Cookie Dough will be embraced with two sleepy eyes.

From time to time God will lay upon our hearts a task that He would like for us to join Him in doing. Notice I said "join Him in doing". God is at work at all times and never slumbers.
Jesus said. "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life." John 6:40

God's will is that none should perish. So He calls on us to join Him in His work. It might be a short term missions or relief trip. It might be a visit to a nursing home to assist the elderly. It might be to work with the kids or teen group at your church. It might be that He calls you to mop the floors in your church. It might be that He asks you to sing, preach, teach a Sunday school class, serve food, or work at a camp for a month. Remember it is all for His perfect will that none should perish. Some of these things could be way out of your comfort zone or schedule. You might be the only person they see that represents Jesus. It might be in a part of town that scares you. Some of these things I just listed might make you feel uncomfortable. But you keep thinking about them. You know that God laid them on your heart. You want to obey but end up paralyzed by fear and doubt.

As always God has an answer of reassurance and hope. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you in my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

God does call us to different and tough tasks. But He is already there and doesn't plan on leaving.
So when He calls, say yes no matter what. You just might be part of changing eternity for someone. Most of all you can join God in what He is doing. It might just change you in ways you never expected.
God bless.

Surrounded 10/17/2012

Good evening,
Had a great challenge last night and my poor neighbor still does not have hot water. The chances of a brand new hot water heater being defective is pretty slim but that's what happened. Coffee pot was set for 4 AM and it was filled be filled with Door County Maple Coffee. Can't wait for that first cup.

I like to watch old war movies and cowboy movies. Over the years I have noticed a few things. But one stands out as note worthy. Being surrounded by your enemy never seems to be a good idea or extremely popular by those who are surrounded. It always seems as if fear is a top commodity. Escape is a priority. Nerves are stretched  further than ever. Sometimes there is conflict with others who are on the same side. Indecision seems to take the place of decisiveness. In one of John Wayne's movies He said to one fella,
"Looks like you got yourself surrounded". The other man replied "Yes and I plan on getting myself unsurrounded." Even John Wayne did not like the idea of being surrounded.

On the other hand there are times I cherish being surrounded.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people. For this time forth and forever. Psalm 125:2

We can count on God to surround us with His love and presence. I mentioned this to someone yesterday and they replied. "But I am surrounded by troubles."  "Oh yes" was my reply. "But think about it. Your troubles are surrounded too." When you look at it that way, surrounded doesn't sound so bad. God has your back!

God bless,
Marty

Pot Holes 10/15/2012

Good evening,

I have my coffee ready to perk for tomorrow morning. I will be having a big cup of Bigby Caramel. I hope your cup of start up is as tasty as mine.

Well, soon we will be plowing snow in Wisconsin. As a matter of fact in some Northern Counties snow has already fallen. The plowing and salt causes a lot of road damage. At times some of the pot holes are called names like "The Grand Canyon, or The biggest Ditch". They get bigger and cause one bumpy ride.

He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6

God is never done with us. He is always seeking out a better, stronger, and more loving relationship with us. We may pick up a pot hole in life but He is faithful to forgive, listen and restore.

Psalm 108:4
4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Lamentations 3:22-23
22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

1 Corinthians 1:9
9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

1 Corinthians 10:13
13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

It might not be pretty all the time, but God isn't finished with you yet. He 's out there all the time working hard. Hang in there you are a Master Piece.

Have a wonderful day,

Marty

The Apples 10/14/2012

Good Morning. Very cool rainy day in Wisconsin. I am drinking a big cup of Door County Egg Nog Coffee and hanging with our two dogs Fritz and Gibbs, affectionately know to us as "the guys".

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Unfortunately this past summer brought to many of us in the Midwest an extended drought. I hope I never get to see one again. But despite the weather we actually had a bumper crop of apples from our three trees. My wife and I are very busy and it seemed as if the apples were not going to get picked in a timely manor. I asked a family from our church if they might want to come once again and help us pick the harvest. They have four wonderful kids  and a couple are big enough to climb trees. They graciously agreed.  We always send them home with plenty of apples that they make into products to be used later in the year. They also take some extra to give to others. We have plenty, they get some apples, and they share with others. Sounds great doesn't it?

To us there is another more important by-product of the apples. You see we are empty nesters. Our daughter and her family live in Florida. We miss them a lot and visits come down to a couple per year. It is a very quiet life here. We miss them a lot. Oh I siad that one already. But it needs to be said again.

During the apple picking our yard is filled with laughter, fun, some work and the joy of sharing. You would think that the "sharing" is the apples. Not really. This family comes and shares in the work, the apples, and there time. They also share their family! Who was really blessed more? The family that received some apples? The folks that they shared the apples with?

No, it was us. Despite the drought, God blessed us with apples. We saw His hand at work in our yard. The family helped us with the work and reduced our task. They brought joy and laughter to our home and yard. The two of us talked about it for a couple days and as I write today I can still see apples falling on to Lydia's head. LOL

God tells us to share without expecting anything in return, But I have to say, I think we were the ones who were blessed more.
Have a great Sunday!

Mr. Yuck 10-13-12

Good morning,

Sitting in the duck blind on Saturday. It's cold and I am drinking some Door County Apple Cobbler Coffee. Nothing like a hot cup of java, a granola bar, a wet dog and a buddy or two to start the day. And of course don't forget a smelly swamp.

John 3:20-21
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear there deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Let's face it. What we are talking about is sin. We all know that sin in our lives has a natural reaction. "We want to hide it". I hope none of us would walk to the pantry and drink a big cup of bleach. We know that it would cause great physical harm. POISON!!!! The sins we like to keep are also poison. We work hard and often work overtime to keep these secrets. This poison often keeps us from living our life fully, free from worry and guilt. POISON!!!!

We all know which ones we keep. So here it is. Go into the closet of your life and toss the poison. It is hazard control for your heart. God is gracious and even says He will help.

I can do all things through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Have a great Saturday,
Marty

10/12/12 Fight's On

Good morning to all,

Hey! I was treated to some coffee by a dear friend. Today I am drinking Pumkin Pie By Bigby Coffee. Thanks Liz!

Many people belive in God, yet they discount the devil as being unreal and mythical. God has never hidden from any of us, the fact that the devil exists. The Bible is very clear on that point. John 3:16 states that God loves us so much that He sent Jesus so that when we would believe on Him we would not perish. Satan has no power over God. Satan is only a fallen angel full of pride. His one goal is to hurt God. In order to do that He attacks the ones whom God loves. He may use temptation to lead us down a wrong road. He may cause havoc in our lives to get us to doubt God.

But here is the good news.
Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

We can stop Satan right where he stands!
1st. Submit to God. That is accomplished by placing your life under God's loving authority.

2nd. RESIST  which means to stand with courage.  How? By recalling Biblical truths. Memorize some Scripture.  Strengthen yourself through prayer.  Turn your back on anything that would lead you astray.

3rd. Why stand alone to temptation? Get an accountability partner. Let them ask you about the sins you like to keep. Help one another resist. Be honest and open with each other. Tell each other where you are weak. pray for one another.

You see the result? Once the battle becomes two sided. He runs. Just like the prideful coward he is.

God bless. Happy Friday

Depression and Doubt 10/11/2012

Good morning,
My coffee today is Door County Cookie Dough. It is quite delicious. It really goes well with a "cookie".
But man does not live by bread alone. So here we go, hang on and sip slow.

Psalm 139:7-10
Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

Many of those that know me could tell you that I believe that I am a manly man. I love to hunt, train dogs, play some sports yet. (even at my age). Most would tell you that I love God and am secure in my faith.
I don"t cry. I have hay fever attacks. I grunt and am often called "old school".

But in all honesty I am just like everyone else. I have fears, doubts, and worries. Sometimes they pile up to the point that I get scared, over worried, and stressed. Well instead of valium, or alcohol I look for something stable. I save Psalm 139:7-10 just for those occasions. I go there and as I read I am reminded that God is with me everywhere - whether I want Him to be or not. This is wonderful truth for those going through rough times of doubt and fear. Some may take a pill to relax. What we really need is a "Gospil".

Have a great day.
God bless,
Marty

Stop and Say Thank You

Good morning,
Door County Cherry Coffee on a cold Wisconsin Morning.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Good parents start teaching there young children to say please and thank you when asking for something or receiving something.

Recount the last 24 hours and try to remember something or good that you saw, touched, ate or experienced.  Despite anything else going on in your life, that one good thing happened.  Our verse today tells us that all good things come from God. Now as your parents would have said to you. "Now what do you say?" Let's stop right now and thank God for those things you were blessed with. Why? They came from Him.

Have a great day,
Marty

Sincere Love

Good morning! Hot coffee today. Door County Maple
— 1 Peter 1:22 —
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

Sincere love? Well that is one to ponder. Sincere love does not keep a journal, diary, score card, or a ledger of love. Sincere love is given without expecting anything in return.
Need an example?

Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus went to the cross for us. Yet He left the choice to us whether or not to accept His gift of salvation. He never expected anything in return.

Love good!

Does Astrology Work?

Good morning,
Door County Egg Nog Coffee is in the cup.
Winter is on my mind.
Today we will discuss a topic that many people think is harmless. Skunks might be cute, but do you invite them into your home? Astrology is false, dangerous and should not be considered "entertainment or harmless".
Follow me as we study.
Does Astrology Work?
The book of Genesis says: “God made two great lights: the larger one to govern the day and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set these lights in the sky to light the earth.” (Genesis 1:16-17 ) Clearly, God created the heavenly bodies to light the earth, but not to function as a therapist, oracle, or god. The idea that the sun moon and stars have a mind of their own has been disproved by modern science, so there is no need to perpetuate it with a belief in astrology.

Is Astrology “Bad”?
Horoscopes, sun signs, and psychics all operate on the premise that heavenly bodies and celestial events determine what will happen in people's lives. However, the Bible says that only God determines our lives: “You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your Book.” (Psalm 139:16)

Therefore, people who consult the stars are relying on the creation instead of the creator who made them. Looking to anything other than God for guidance and assistance is not just an insult to the almighty, but is also idolatry, which is forbidden by God: “Do not worship any god except me. Do not make idols that look like anything in the sky…” (Exodus 20:3-4)

God bless.

Fooled by a Feeling

Good morning on this fine fall day. Door County Maple is the flavor of the day in my coffee cup..

Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

Many people search for God by feelings. I believe Eve felt that she needed an apple. I believe Eve felt she had a right to the tree.  Eve might say. "I was fooled by a feeling, now I am feeling like a fool."

Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Proverbs 14:12-13
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief.

On the other hand!
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Feelings! Or faith built upon God's promises found within His word?
Trust in God by faith, not by feelings.

God bless,
Marty

One Day

Psalm 84:10
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a door keeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Good morning! Back at home and the coffee today is "White Christmas" from Door County.

Better is one day in your courts Father God than a thousand; where?____________

Notice I left a blank for you to fill in.  You see today's devotional is interactive. Let me know what you filled in for your answer.
Let me help you with what the answer should be. Here is a hint. Exodus 20:3
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

"Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. Man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether this be gods or demons (for example satanism), power, pleasure, race, ancestors, the state, money, pride, possessions or time.

By the way. What was your answer?
God bless,
