The Old Biscuit Cutter 3/25/2021

 Good Morning,

Today I chose Door County Gingerbread Spice Latte Coffee to fill my morning mug. Some serious prayer went up and out today.

Whenever I make sheet biscuits from scratch I use our old biscuit cutter to slice through the dough and plop the biscuit on to a baking sheet. Each biscuit is the the same shape and size. We once made 600 biscuits for a church breakfast. My wife Rene and I worked a long day for that event. Unlike the quick method of just plopping dough from a spoon on to the baking sheet, which results in biscuits that don't look alike and don't have consistent heat on the the whole biscuit. This results usually with harder edges and a biscuit that looks like golden lava chunks. Not that it is a big deal, but to me it is important. Presentation is half the battle of setting out a meal that not only tastes good, but looks good also. I for one do not like crunchy biscuits.

Here's the point of the day. You will be doing something today, only you know what it is. Right down to making biscuits, planting seedlings for your garden, changing a tire, giving a presentation, building a new home, taking care of sick patients or making meals for the family. You should do all things in a neat, and orderly fashion. Have you ever thought that just making biscuits for someone to eat is a chore that should be done well which honors God? How do you conduct business? Are you a Godly example to those you deal with? Can your family see God in your interactions with them?

There are two things to observe when doing anything.

#1  1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

#2  Philippians 2:14-15    14 Do all things without murmuring or complaining, 15, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God, without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights to the world.

Can others see God through the things you do?  Food for thought!

Marty
