Close That Door 3/4/2021

 Good Morning,

The day began with prayer and a hot cup of Door County Raspberry Almond Coffee. It is time to write.

There is an old saying "The devil makes work for idle hands". I believe this to be true. We leave ourselves wide open for temptation and trouble when we have little or nothing to do.

Philippians 1:10-11 I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation.

Downtime or idle time is dangerous ground for the believer. Times when the church seems to slow down a little or maybe the leader is missing for one reason or another doesn't mean we all slow down. We should always occupy our time in doing good deeds or services for the church.

"Temptation usually comes through a door that has been deliberately left open" (Anonymous)

If we stay busy working in the Kingdom and forge ahead through idle times we will have no time to get involved in temptation. We need not work alone or wait on the church to sponsor events. We can partner with friends to help build Christian Community, pass on the faith and minister to others. We can be there for those who mourn physically and spiritually. Close the door on idleness! It is a door that is best closed and you hold the key.

Marty
