I am waiting on my hot pot of Door County Peanut Butter Crunch Coffee to finish brewing. I believe I will take a road cup with me today.
The national news was not the best last night. It was reported that the three day holiday weekend had 125 people either killed or wounded in the United States. If you put 12 people in a room together and ask them how to solve the killing you might get 12 different ideas. Some will blame the guns and fast cars. Some will blame drugs that cause people to do desperate things. Some will blame status held within society. Some will blame the schools and churches for not doing enough. Each argument can be validated and also disregarded at the same time.
It all comes down to respect, and fear for God. You want to change actions, then start with the hearts of men, women and children. Go back to teaching right from wrong, Hold people accountable for their actions and see how many want to break the law after working on a chain gang. Don't be afraid to take away cars and add hard work to a jail sentence.
Most of all show people the way to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Teach the little ones respect for the law and other people. Don't blame the implements of death and destruction. Blame the lawless person who decides to take a life with a car, knife or a gun.
It is a very clear stand God takes on murder. Exodus 20:13 Thou shall not murder.
But a reprobate will not respect or observe the laws of God, let alone live productively and peacefully within society. ( Reprobate, a person without moral scruples.) If you are a member of a church and your church does not have a prayer night, start one and begin praying for revival. It is the one true solution. Food for thought.
