Good Morning,
I am up early and headed out on a short duck hunting trip with friends to North Dakota. I just drank a quick cup of Door County Lighthouse Blend Coffee and I am ready to ride.
Whenever I prepare a short term mission team to travel and serve the Lord one of the things I stress to them is to "be real" with each other. Knowing you will spend 7-10 days as a team together 24/7 and admitting that someone will inevitably offend another person or persons in the group which can easily become a mess and steer the team off target is an important and noteworthy statement. Different personalities after spending time together can begin to rub on each other and friction begins.
To cure this ahead of time has always been my goal. I explain that this friction will occur because Satan wants it to and it is an easy way for him to disrupt the good work being done. This works the same at home. Be real! You aren't perfect and you shouldn't expect perfection from anyone else. In many instances it is just better to overlook the small irritations others bring to the table. Let it go! Look for the good qualities in others and bypass the irritating ones. Be real. Maybe you irritate them.
No need to tell anyone you forgave them for something. Just forgive, and move on. Then forget it as God does. It does help to say you are sorry if you become aware of the fact that you have offended someone.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Enjoy life. Getting all worked up over the minor things of life and for the actions of others just leads to self torment. Food for thought!
Marty
