Be Wise. Not Too Much Good Happens After Midnight 2 Samuel 9/24/21

Good Morning,

I am wide awake after enjoying a good seven hours of sleep. My mug is next to me and it is filled with Door County Chocolate Caramel Truffle Coffee and I am ready to greet the day.

2 Samuel 2-3 One evening, David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, "She is Bathsheba. the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite"

Being up late and filled with boredom can lead to unwise choices and mistakes. David should have been off with his army, but stayed home. This led to a lot of sin and misery for his family.

Proverbs 19:23 Fear of the Lord leads to life, bringing security, sleep and protection from harm.

Every morning when I turn on the news I hear about speeding cars, causing accidents that kill people, and gun battles between people on the streets. These usually happen around midnight and up to 3am. Then the evening news shows us the aftermath of these night time atrocities with the candlelight vigils at the scene of the accident or the shootings.

I often think to myself, especially when the victims are young and in their prime that the tragedy might have been avoided if people stayed home at night especially between the hours of 11pm and 3am. Maybe if they were home in prayer, reading a bible or even watching television instead of caving into the temptations of the night, we might have less senseless deaths on the morning news. How about trying something new.? Go to bed and get a good night of sleep. Nothing good happens out there at night.

David could have avoided some major problems if he "went to work" stayed in bed, slept and  kept his nose out of his neighbors window.

Food for thought! Get some sleep, leave evil to it's own self. Stay busy doing good.

Marty
