A Heart Breaks Every Time 4/23/2024

 Good Morning,

This day began with prayer and a hot cup of Door County Peanut Butter Crunch Coffee. It is time to write .

Psalm 147:3 ESV He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

As I get older some things seem to bother me more than they used to. Senseless crimes and the the hurt they cause are right at the top of the list. One of those crimes is the high speeds of people racing down the roads and causing accidents, with death and serious injuries. Just recently in the large city close to our home two cars loaded with people were traveling at around 100 miles per hour through the center of the city. They eventually collided with large transit bus. There was loss of life and some other very critical injuries. I ask why? There isn't really a good answer for such disregard for life.

I see families torn apart by these tragedies and hear the mothers crying on television, because there is now one less plate at their table. Their hearts are breaking. Innocent people just trying to get to work via a bus route now have anxiety, worrying if it is safe to be on a bus.  I could make a list of senseless crimes as long as my arm, but this reckless driving would be on top of the list.

So much heartache in this world, when this one could really be eliminated easily with a dose of respect for the law, love for others, and common sense. Instead we see balloon monuments and candle light vigils in remembrance of the lost. Those are nice, but it doesn't restore life and mend broken hearts.

Food for thought.

  1. A love for God and a respect of the law would easily solve most of the problems we now see.
