Burgers With Grandma 7/20/2020

Good Morning,

This day began awhile ago and it started with prayer and then the day led me to a hot cup of Door County Vanilla Cappuccino Coffee. Now it is time to write.

Proverbs 17:1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting. with strife.

Yesterday we traveled to my wife's home town to visit her mother. We prepared some burgers and potato salad to take with us. Our goal was to have a nice lunch with her and Rene's brother. Everything went smoothly and the food was good. Although the whole clan was not there, it was a family dinner none the less with 4 of us present. We prayed before eating and during our meal we chatted about everything under the sun. That's when we found out that Mother took welding classes in high school during World War Two.  The banter and chit chat is something I like at the dinner table. For me, I will never forget this day. We also found out that Mother was a member of her high school girls baseball team. The wonders were unceasing at that table yesterday.

We both went home with full bellies and a heart at peace for having been there. It was a meal of fun. So make sure that as soon as you can you resume family dinners and get togethers. Enjoy your family before you can't.

Marty
