Seeking Your Identity 2/22/2020

Good Morning,

It's early Saturday Morning  and I just sat down to write. Our two English Springer Spaniels are at my feet and my mug is filled with Door County Black and Tan Coffee. It has a little more punch to it than some of the flavors I drink normally. But that extra zip is needed today.

I find that my subject today is one that we all struggle with from, time to time. Identity Crisis 101

1 Peter 2:10

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

People often base their self- significance on their accomplishments or lack of accomplishments. But our relationship with Jesus Christ is far more important than our job status,  We promote our successes as a measure of status. We measure our wealth and might feel proud or let down. It's one or the other. Some people seek great knowledge and measure their identity by that. Those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are His own brothers and sisters. God the Father welcomes us into a relationship with Him for eternity. The Holy Spirit dwells within us. You now have been called to represent Him to your world. You have worth because of what God did, what He still does and will do. Not because of what you do or what you own or what you look like. You are a child of the King. You have your identity in Him and you were worth dying for.

Happy Saturday. Be a blessing to someone today.

Marty
