Dead Noses Don't Smell Roses 2/8/2020

Good Morning,

My day started with a short trip and a big cup of Door  County Jamaican Blue  Mountain Blend Coffee and prayer.

Job 14:5 Since his days are determined and the number of his months  is with You, and you have appointed his limits that  he cannot exceed.

Valentines Day will be upon us like a hungry guy on a burger next week. Usually men and women will purchase a gift or card for their sweetheart on this holiday of love. I usually purchase some sugar free chocolates from a great emporium for my wife Rene. We participate and have done so for many years.

Here's  my point. When someone  we love dies we decorate the church or coffin with flowers showing our grief and love for the deceased. Then a few times a year we go to the cemetary and decorate the graves with more flowers. I think we should do this.

But to wait a year to give a gift of love to someone on Valentines  Day is terribly presumptuous on our part
We assume that we will be alive or our sweetheart  will be there next year. Let me suggest that we don't  play God and act like we know the future. It can all end with a car accident or a heart attack. Buy the roses, candy, or perfume throughout the year. Go together for that ice cream cone. No one ever said from their coffin, "Man those lillies  smell good."

Not the happy sappy message this could be. But it is filled with reality.

Food for thought.

Marty
