Good Morning,
I planted grass seed last night and now hoping for a little rain to keep the soil moist. My coffee this fine morning is Door County Peanut Butter Crunch.
One of the requirements for those of us who are in management for the health care organization I work for is to make sure that those who report to us are engaged and recognized. A tool was created for us to hand out that asks each employee to write down what they like and how they want to be recognized for their accomplishments. Many write that they just want to be thanked in private. Some want to be thanked in public. Some of us managers were talking about the responses we received. I heard about one caregiver that said "throw me a parade with a cake".
Luke 6:45New King James Version (NKJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart[a] brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
The language you use every time you speak is an expression of your thoughts. Every time you speak, your mind is on parade.
In the parades I have seen throughout my life I have watched clowns, dignitaries, celebrities, marching bands, veterans, and business go down the street. By listening and watching you could easily tell what their purpose in the parade was.
Each day we have the opportunity to share what is on our minds. We do it without realizing that we are talking. People form their opinions of the mind parade we show. They also know what is number one on our minds and hearts. In your daily parade of speech, out of the overflow of your heart and minds how often is Jesus the main theme of your parade? Or do you always throw a self centered parade of foolish talk or thoughts that promote you as the center of attention? Could others see Jesus on parade through your speech?
Food for thought today.
God bless,
Marty
