Good Morning,
My Door County Wisconsin Harvest Blend Coffee is in a cup and within arms reach. It is time to share a thought.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
I am very proud of the folks who attend our church for the Saturday night service. I don't have to be a doctor to know that their hearts are in the right place. One lady in the faithful church family heard of a need a young girl who wanted to give her younger sister a birthday party. This lady came to me and asked if it would be possible to do that after the service one night in September. The church calendar was open on the 21st, thus the wheels were in motion. Our Saturday folks pooled resources and their was a pot luck type meal served, A beautiful birthday cake was made by our resident professional baker. The church cafe was decorated for the celebration and some gifts were wrapped and ready for our birthday girl. Soon after the festivities were done, the place was cleaned up and ready for this morning. One teenage young man worked his butt off to assist his grandparents with decorating and even serving the cake. It doesn't take much for this band of believers to hear about a need and then act on it. The word family extends beyond the doors of their own home. They have adopted one another as church family. They aren't exclusive, but they are inclusive, always making room and accommodations for one more at the table of fellowship. You just have to love them.
Hebrews 10 24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25. not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near,
If God allows you to hear of a need, it is yours to act on. In this instance the lady and her husband could have just given a gift card to a pizza palace or even gone out to eat with the the family. But better yet, the Saturday night group shared in the fun and feeling of good will together.
Check to see if your heart is in the right place and let God bend your ear. He might just want to make you into a blessing for others.
Marty
