Waiting On The Weather 5/21/2023

 Good Morning,

I brewed a pot of Door County Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee and now my mug is full and it is time to enjoy it.

Our weather forecast started last night warning us that some heavy, possibly dangerous storms are going to visit where we live later today and into the night. We were given enough warning and now it is up to us to do whatever we can to be prepared.

Matthew 6:34 ESV Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Philippians 4:6-7   6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The second  thing and not the most important thing is to accept the fact that we cannot change the weather.  The first thing and it is the most important thing is to turn this over to God in prayer asking Him for grace, wisdom and protection. The fear of the unknown is always seeking to enhance your worries, yet knowing that we prayed and are trusting God to carry us through chases that fear away.

Jesus walked on water during a storm and invited Peter to come out on the turbulent water. Peter left the boat during the storm and when Peter began to sink, Jesus was there to pull him out. The sea was not calm when Peter walked out of a perfectly good boat. He stepped into the storm and trusted our Lord to uphold him.

We do not know at the time of this writing what the future holds, we just know Who holds the future.

God bless,

Marty
