Good Morning,
The house is very quiet this morning and my cup of Door County Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee is very hot. It is time to write.
Every now and then a person can find themselves in the middle of some issue or another that just seems to be squeezing in on them and there is no turning back. It's like being in a severe storm. You are in it. It is around you, in front of you and behind you. You have to go through it to be done with it. Financial woes are a good example of being squeezed in a tight arena. No one really knows when their car will break down, but then it happens and the repair costs just seem to make you choke. Or a storm hits your part of the world and you now have some home damage. You have insurance, but there is the deductible to pay. And the car is repairs are still holding you hostage. You still have to eat, and so you go to the grocery store and what used to be twenty dollars is now two hundred dollars. Then a simple back pain turns out to be a kidney stone wanting to use your body as a torture chamber.
Life put's the squeeze on you and it's not pleasant. But there is only one way to go and that is straight ahead and fight your way one issue at a time. If God allowed you to be brought to a tight place in life, He will carry you through it one step at a time. He will hold our hand and show you the way. Staying in the squeeze is not an option. In the middle of the tight squeeze, we often can learn something. God's leadership in times of a tight squeeze never allows for options. He shows us the way and only way to go. When we look to God and we want options we really are not looking for Him to lead. His leadership isn't a game show with doors to choose from. We either concede that He knows best and is able to lead us forward, and beyond the mess we are in, or we continue to struggle and struggle some more.
Here are a some Scripture sources to help me make my point today.
Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it."
Isaiah 41:12-13 You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them. those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. 13. For I the Lord your God hold your right hand . It is I who say to you, "Fear not I am the One who helps you."
Keep forging ahead, look up and follow the One who can lead you through the narrows of life. But Listen!
Marty
