A Good Children's Program 10/10/2023

 Good Morning,

Things are moving slow in this house this morning. It seems as if my get up and go, never woke up. A hot cup of Door County Caramel Apple Coffee is sitting next to me and it is time to write.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

We live in a busy world and time is a commodity that just seems to run dry now and then. Families are busier than ever, especially in a one parent home. Parents singularly or as a couple are chauffeurs for their children, carting them off to all their activities. I would have to say that those parents do a great job of getting the kids to their sport practices and games. Then there is dance class and gymnastics as well as school.

I speak a word from this desk today that says, "Hey parents, don't forget about God". Many of these secular events now take place on Sundays. We develop, thie kids sports skills, their dance skills and all other kinds of stuff. But do we develop their relationships with God? Are they in church partaking of the programs designed for their age? Do they sit with you through a church service? How about mid week when a lot of churches have programs for the kids. Small children and teens need to be taught from the Bible and given opportunities to apply what they have learned.

Meals quite often are eaten on the run now.  The dining room table is often adorned with a center piece. But the table is no longer used as the gathering place for meals and well, prayer just doesn't happen.

We ask ourselves, "What is wrong with this world'? Here is the straight answer. God has become a choice within many choices. When we place God as a choice on the menu of life, He at times becomes no choice at all.

Time to reverse some trends and the place to do so is in your own homes.

God bless,

Marty
