The train passing by our sub division woke me up and the aroma of the Door County Caramel Pecan Scones Coffee is making me desire a second cup.
I will start today with a bold statement. Abounding joy is strong, clear evidence that you have peace with God and have a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. A person who walks with the Lord is also a realist in the finest sense. They comprehend the seriousness of life and the true reality of spiritual warfare. But none of that robs that person of joy. They value the presence of the Lord in their life and thus they have joy despite circumstances. You will never find them throwing a pity party for themselves. Nor would they invite anyone to be miserable with them.
Yes, Christians have to deal with the serious issues of life, they know that Christ is the answer to those issues and that is what brings them joy. It is the abundant life that Jesus speaks of.
John 10:10 The thief does not come except tp steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.
This is the basis for joy that does not come from circumstances, but from inside where the risen Lord reigns.
