Good Morning.
The day began with a hot cup of Door County Inn Keepers Blend Coffee and a smile. It is time to write.
Last night we held our annual Men's Steak Feed at our church and as expected it was well attended. For me it is always a reunion time with old friends and a time to meet some new people. It is the type of reunion that you look forward to, not one of those, "I have to go to" types. I look forward to it. The work to pull it off is hard and tiring. Cleaning up is a chore and a half. We were blessed to have four ladies from our church come and wash the many dishes and utensils that were used. Thanks Ladies!
Back to my thought on seeing old friends. Many of the attendees are there to dine with their friends and are there through invitations from others. So for some of these guys, I only get to see once a year. But never do I get tired "catching up" a little. This reunion I believe is just a taste of what a greater reunion I will experience some day.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14. For since we believe Jesus died, and rose again, even so, through Jesus Christ, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep. 15. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16.For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel and with a sound from the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18. Therefore one another with these words.
It was a great night yesterday and what a great day we have to look forward to.
Have a blessed day!
Marty
