The Dumpster With Endless Room 8/8/2015

Good Morning,
 Day four of this mission trip and I am a little tired, but so content that I might not ever want to go back to my secular job. My friend Paul is making the Door County Coffee this morning. I guess it will be a surprise flavor.

Isaiah 45:22-23New King James Version (NKJV)
22 “Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23 I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath

One of the chores we performed this week was to remove all the junk from an abandoned house so it could become usable once more. The area needs a day care center and this is the start! The contents of the home had become wet when pipes burst during the winter after freezing when the furnace went out. We were able to obtain a large dumpster to discard all the stuff. When assessing the amount of stuff to be tossed and the size of the dumpster, junk out weighed the size of the receptacle. But the team started to fill the dumpster, wondering what they would do when it was filled and the house only half empty. Well, several people from the neighborhood stopped by asking if they could have some of the items being thrown away? My thought is this, I might be tossing it, but if you can use it, it's yours. So as they hauled things out of the wet home, others would pick it up and take it to use. The items would have filled that dumpster three times. The house is empty now, but the dumpster was filled once. We only paid for one dumpster. The money can be used for something else. Amazing!

Last night our team spent time talking about how God has met all of our needs so far this week and just how amazing He is. The dumpster that did not have a bottom was just one of the many things that God showed us so far. It might seem like a little thing to you, but God also controls how our funds are spent. He doesn't waste money on dumpsters!

Our little team of 19 is growing spiritually as they rely on God more. If that's what they learn on this trip, well then it was all worth it! They bowed to the Lord last night. He has put on a great show of His wisdom and might for them. He is their God and there is no other.

Have a blessed day, mine is!

Marty
