No! Never Alone, Never Alone. July 4th 2015

Good Morning,

My mug is steaming hot this morning. It is filled with Door County Almond Toffee Coffee. This is a new flavor for me to try. The jury is still out on this one. I see this as more of a December type coffee for me.

Loneliness is a disease of the heart. And it is well known that the heart is the source of life flow through the body. My metaphor this morning is this. The heart is a body organ but we all refer to it as where our love or hatred is held. Both come from our souls within. So for today, hang with me and let's pretend that our heart can be diseased by emotions.

Once a heart is diseased it becomes lazy or restricted in its ability to pump the life blood through our arteries. A heart needs exercise and the right diet to stay healthy.

A hear that suffers from the disease of loneliness is one that is undernourished and lacks exercise. As with many heart diseases medication is available for help, but medication should be the last resort. Many heart diseases are irreversible. Loneliness is not. It can be cured.

You are as ill as you choose to be. Do you wait to be called or do you call someone? Do you stay at home or venture out? Do you spend time in prayer throughout the day with God?  He is available 24 hours a day. Do you read your Bible and let Him speak to you? Do you know that you are a treasure chest of love that you can share with others? You have the ability to make people happy by just being there for them.

The signs of loneliness setting in are .
1. You become unapproachable.
2. Your chair is your best friend.
3. Sleep is your daily date.
4. You can't sleep at night.
5. Food is nothing to get excited about.
6. You end up liking to be alone.
7. You can't function with others.
8. No one wants to be around you.

If you have these symptoms you are in danger of becoming a dinosaur and extinction is inevitable. You will be rarely seen and people will forget that you exist.

God doesn't forget you. He knows what you are doing, at all times. He created us to be social beings in need of each other. He is the best place to start to warm your heart and prepare you to get back into the world He created for you.

Once He warms your heart get out there and greet the world and all it has to offer. Get involved in and organization or cause. Offer your talents and gifts to others in need.

Everyone struggles with loneliness at some point. Whether you are going through something hard that you don't think anyone else understands or you are facing a change in life where you just feel alone, God's Word provides hope and strength. There is someone who is closer than a brother and is always with You - Jesus Christ is our friend and comforter!

Deuteronomy 31:6New International Version (NIV)
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

There are lots of parades today in the United States. There are good things happening all over the world. Telephones and email are all working. Don't wait for a call, make one.

You are as lonely as you choose to be. A good time is only a prayer away.

God bless,

Marty
