Good Morning.
Morning came earlier than usual today so I could duck hunt and enjoy time with my nephew and our buddy. I will be drinking a hot cup of Door County Cherry Creme Coffee in my truck and in the duck blind. Now it is time to write.
1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
Today's message is for men. Ladies, feel free to pass it on to the guys in your life.
As we struggle and strive to be the men God intended us to be, we need to keep the right perspective and view of ourselves. The everyday pressures of our lives can bring frustration and self doubt. In reality, it doesn't take too much to break some guys down. Each of us suffers from self doubt, but in varies degrees. It is during these times of frustration and doubt that we must realize and remember that we have been created in the image and likeness of God and we were created to stand tall as men. Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior was the perfect example of what a man should be.
Don Hillis states: Jesus humbled Himself, but he never humiliated Himself. He laid aside His glory, but not His self respect. He was willing to be cursed, but He himself never cursed. He was despised and rejected by men, but He didn't despise or reject Himself. No word of self condemnation ever escaped His lips. Jesus believed that man was God's highest creation and He exalted manhood.
As guys, we will face and endure many challenges and temptations during our lives. What we need to recognize is that our downfalls will often be the result of our own childish desires.
Guys, for your good and the good of those in your family or your close circle, let go of any desire that could cause your downfall today. Anger, pride, inability to forgive, greed, irresponsibility, or lust, let it go. Stand Tall!
