If You're Happy And You Know It! 11/19/2021

 Good Morning,

I just finished pouring myself a hot cup of Door County Cherry Creme Coffee. Our dogs have been outside and it is time to write.

Proverbs 15:13 A glad heart makes a cheerful face.

One of the childhood songs that I can even recall singing is "If You're Happy And You Know It". For instance, we would sing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands." The next line might be, if you're happy and you know it stomp your feet. We would, on command to the tune stomp our feet, clap our hands adding a new command each time and speeding up the tempo. Before too long you were sing clap your hands, stomp your feet. twirl right, jump up etc. etc. etc. At the end of the choruses we would sing "If You're happy and you know it than your face will surely show it."

I am sure some of you are recalling that song right now and it has either caused you to smile or have violent seizures this morning.

In a time when wearing masks seems to be the norm, the smiles we once were accustomed to are hidden for the most part. I work part time in healthcare now and we wear masks all day long. Yet our eyes can give away our emotions. The other day while walking through a medical center I ran into a lady I haven't seen in two years.  As we passed each other in the corridor, our eyes met and we both started smiling under our masks. Our eyes gave our emotions away. It was so nice to see her again and catch up for a few minutes. Now, we don't wear masks 24/7 so here is my thought for the day. Smile when needed with your eyes. Smile when you can show it without a mask. If you are happy let people know with that big smile and twinkling eyes.

What good is it if you are as happy as a kid with an all day loli pop and two tongues, if you don't express the happiness to others?

Enjoy your day and share the joy, whenever you can.

Marty
