A Thought On Prayer 9/12/2020

 Good Morning,

Today started with a large cup of Door County Wisconsin Harvest Blend Coffee and some fresh air. I  spent too much time in the drizzle praying this morning. I harvested some fresh air into my lungs and now I am ready to write.

Our church is launching a prayer campaign for 40 days to study prayer and learn to pray more. I will be kicking it off tonight with "Why We Pray"

One of the points that I will be driving home is that prayer is a way to not only ask for things, show gratitude and our love for God, it is a way to know ourselves better.

Habakkuk 2;20 The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the Earth keep silent before Him.

It is true that we get to God more through prayer. But there is a benefit in coming before Him in silence. We also get to know ourselves better. We get to know ourselves as God sees us. How often we pray and are convicted of sin in our lives. Maybe one sin that we didn't realize was a sin. We hear it from our own mouths and we can't get it out of our minds. Like Peter on the rooftop we are made aware of what we practiced or believed to be unholy. Prayer opens our heart to us. God already knows what is buried in our hearts, We very often don't always know, realize or accept as wrong the contents within our hearts.

So friends, that is one of my thoughts that I will be sharing tonight and thought it would be good to share with all of you.

God bless,

Marty

  1. Matthew 17:18-20. I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. The church does not realize the power given to them to affect this world. We can do all things through Christ our Savior. When the church comes together in unity and prayer for the purposes of God, God shows up and answers our prayers. We the church have the power to stop abortion, to stop the violence and to bind the enemy that is coming against our country. It is time to rise up and fight and war against the principalities in the heavens. His word says, that what we bind on earth will be bound in heaven.

  2. I am of the opinion, we are like spoiled children, we ask and don't receive the answers in our time. We than stick out our lower lip and sulk. Children of the Living God, WAKE UP, YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWS NEAR! He loves you enough to die for you, give Him a few minutes of your precious time. If you don't want to talk with Him now, why would you want to spend eternity with HIM?
