Writing Your Resume 12/12/2019

Good Morning,

I am happy to say that I remembered to program the coffee maker so that I would wake up to the aroma of Door County Jingle Bell Coffee permeating the house. That always makes for a happy start to the day.

Proverbs 22:1 Choose a good reputation over great riches, being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.

Tomorrow I will be spending time with a dear friend who desires to find another job. He is currently employed with an employer that just isn't a good fit for him. So after we have some coffee tomorrow morning we are going to write a new resume for him and send it to a different company in hope of finding another job. Of course we both will be in prayer over this today as well as tomorrow.

Writing his resume should be easy for us to do. Except for the historical data that only he can provide, as a good friend I could write about his attributes without him. I have witnessed him at work. He is prompt, neat, dedicated, organized, and the list of nice things I can say without embellishing my statements could grow to be very long.

Friends, you either are going to work today, or you work at building a home for your family, or you have worked at a job in the past. I ask you this. What would others say about you and your work habits? Do you give it your best effort whether it is in the job arena or in your home?

Every day people are watching you and forming opinions. I ask again if you were in a position to hire someone, would you hire  you? Are you known as prompt? Are you known as a team player? Do you actually need to be supervised?  Who are you when the boss isn't around?

Tomorrow we will put his resume on paper with education and work history. Do we all realize that we write our own attributes every day? If you had to sit down and write about yourself in order to gain employment would you have to lie to make yourself sound good? Do you back up your words with actions?  You can change a bad attribute resume anytime. If you need to, how about starting today?

Think it through. what would your friends, family and coworkers say about you? Are you always headed in the right direction of integrity?

Marty
