Good Morning,
This day is a cold one for sure. I have seen worse but for some reason this one is making my cup of Door County Candy Cane Coffee work extra hard this morning to wake me up.
Dear Friends, Christmas for me has always been a time to give gifts to others and at times receive some presents. I think exchanging gifts is symbolic of what Jesus Christ did by coming to Earth as a baby and living 33 years before dying on the cross for us.
Jesus set the tone for us in giving gifts. The one gift that stands out for me is that He gave the gift of love and showed us what a true sacrifice is.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus did for us what we couldn't do for ourselves. John 15:13 No greater love hath any man than this, that he lay down is life for His friends.
Jesus showed us love in His actions toward us. We in turn received this gift and should practice loving others by our own actions, showing them the love of God. Giving the gift of your time is one way to show you care and love the person being gifted. Pass on some love to someone today. Tell them you care by your actions. Not all gifts come from a catalog. The best ones come from the heart.
God bless,
Marty
