Be Careful Today 12/9/2019

Good Morning,

Monday arrived as promised and it was right on time. My day began with some serious prayer and a cup of Door County Christmas Coffee. It is time to write.

Ecclesiastes  3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven,

When I say "be careful today " If  I take that statement by region and it's weather. I would be referring to our part of this planet as damp and slippery, changing to slushy and cold. That is a combination that could provide slips and falls as well as some driving hazards.

But since this is sent world wide I want to the time to say watch out and be less preoccupied. In December as well as most of the year people are moving about with more than one thing on their minds. We attempt to multi task too often, placing ourselves in the way of harm. For instance texting while driving or walking. We all know the menace of driving and texting at the same time. But have you considered walking and staring at a screen hazardous? I haven't met a walkway that is perfect and never changes elevations.

Some go to work and the work has more hazards than most jobs. But instead of paying attention to the task at hand our mind wanders off to the Christmas presents that need to be purchased or the child at home with the sniffles. These are noble things to think about and friends it is so hard to not be preoccupied with the many things going on in life.  But each day is filled with hazards that could harm us or others and especially when we multi task too much of our brains. An accident that causes us bodily harm does no good what so ever for your day, month or years. It might then be the thing that fills our minds with regrets, added stress and unplanned appointments.

I am guilty of the above in many ways. But friends we need to try and slow down our pace, concentrate on the task at hand, and make each day as safe as possible. We owe it to ourselves and our families to do so. It is admirable that Mom or Dad had their child on their minds while driving to work. But the child won;t know that when they bury their parent. They will always wonder, "What were they thinking about".

Love to all,

Marty
