The Work Of Our Hands 5/1/2019

Good Morning,

I just had to laugh a little this morning as I stepped out of bed. I was less that excited to get up and start the day. But our dog Gibbs was wired like he had just finished a Mountain Dew and box of Goobers. He wanted to play and run right away. I wish I had that type of energy. I just poured a cup of Door County Country Morning Blend Coffee and now it is time to write.

Psalm 90:17 New King James Version (NKJV)

And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands.

17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us,

Today we will all take part in Wednesday May 1st. Some of us will go to work. Some will practice being retired. Some will go to school. Some will shop. Some will vacation. Some will be ill and sit in a nursing home or a hospital. But we will all be doing something.

In Psalm 90 Moses is credited with writing the passages. Verse 17 stood out to me as I read through it last night. He is asking God to establish the work of their hands. He asks twice. Moses is asking that God be seen in their work. Moses knows Who they work for. He is asking for direction, ability, and passion. Then he asks that God's beauty be seen in them and upon them. Moses knows what the world needs to see and that they are to be the vessels God uses.

Today, can God be seen with you at work or at play? Can God be seen in you while you suffer? Are you approachable and one who others desire to be with because of God's presence in your life? Do you work like you are representing God? Could verse 17 be your prayer today?

Heavenly Father let us all be worthy of having you be seen in us. Establish please, the work of our hands.

Marty
