When A Small Issue Grows 5/9/2019

Good Morning,

I am happy to say that I hear the Door County Highlander Grog Coffee brewing in the kitchen. It's time to rise and shine for many of us. Let's not forget to pray for those we love today.

My plumbing experience has taught me that a cup of water can seem like a deluge if not viewed in the right perspective. Water tends to find a way to leak from one floor or through one wall to the next. A little water tends to spread and make a leak look a lot worse than it really is.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 English Standard Version (ESV)
11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,

To make it worse, many a person with good intentions tends to take a small leak and make it a lot worse by jumping to the solution and not being trained to repair it. An uninformed person can do a lot of damage by going off half cocked and acting upon the leak. Their lack of skill or understanding starts a flood of epic proportions. If you can read between the lines you can see that I am talking about those in life who think they know everything and start to solve what they see as the issues in other lives. They tend to take a small issue and make a bigger deal out of it by adding their two cents which isn't worth a penny.

It is very often that the self proclaimed mind reader has so much going on in their own life that they find it easier to place their pipe wrench into someone else's plumbing instead of fixing their own. They are miserable and don't mind spreading unwanted misery by jumping to conclusions or lashing out without praying or thinking things through. These people need some serious time in the Word of God and plenty of prayer. I advise you all. If you have too many of these types of people in your life. Pray and run. These people are self righteous and can suck the life out of you, your time and ministry.
It is OK to distance yourself from these and concentrate on what you know God has called you to.

This was a rough subject. Ask yourself. Am I a pain in the butt to others? Do I build up or tear down others? Am I an attention seeker through creating strife for others? If this is you, get on your knees and ask God for help. He will help you before people start to treat you like the unwanted measles.

Marty
