I am awake but barely. We arrived home yesterday after driving 15 hours from Georgia. In all reality it should have taken about twelve hours, but severe weather blocked the road for a bit. Then the inevitable, we had to go through Chicago and the timing was bad and that added an hour and a half to an already long day. I wonder if the people of Chicago know that their city is known for traffic on steroids? A little Door County Peanut Butter Crunch Coffee should straighten me out.
I heard a line this last weekend from someone who saw a movie and was telling us about a statement made about cucumbers. "A cucumber is not real food" I for one like cucumbers that are very cold and sliced about 3/16th of an inch thick. I like them served with salt and pepper.I like the taste and the fact that they are cold. They tend to be good roughage for the colon. They are a source of a few vitamins and are thought to reduce blood pressure. They are an excellent filler in a salad and in some cases they are used as a beauty treatment over the eyes.
Hebrews 5:12 New King James Version (NKJV)
Spiritual Immaturity
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the [a]oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
I think that many Christians are spiritually dining on way too much "Spiritual Salad" and not getting enough Spiritual meat in their diets. It is evident that Christians have become weak in their faith, just wanting to get by without being involved. The lack of faithful involvement is due to the unwillingness to dine on the Word of God. It amazing when it comes to choices that could make a person take a stand and they shrivel off without supporting what's right. They prefer to be politically correct instead of correct in the eyes of God.
Too many cucumbers and not enough meat!
Matthew 4:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’
Food for thought.
