Making Decisions 1/28/2016

Good Morning,

Up and on my feet long before the alarm clock or the dog decided to wake me up. My Door County Raspberry Butter Crunch Coffee hugged me with a sweet sip first thing. I easily have time for another cup before work, but I think I will pass and fill the travel mug instead.

It is hard enough to make decisions that impact your own life, but when you have to make decisions that impact the lives of others it is even worse. With every life we receive responsibilities whether we want them or not. Some responsibilities are inherited and we cannot hide from the duty. At times we all have to make choices, and the choices we make even though the best decisions for all are not received with applause from those involved. This leads to conflict and loss of sleep. Ask God for advice.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths

Every decision we make should be bathed in prayer. Praying about your decisions will keep you closely connected to the Lord. Through prayer you can maintain a close relationship with God without which you would not be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in the decision you need to make.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

Ask others to pray for you and with you. Seek counsel with someone you trust before launching into a decision. Times like this are tough, let others hold you up. Don't be afraid to share.

God bless all of you as decisions arise.

Marty
