Think Before You Speak 11/17/2014

Good Morning,

The coffee swirling in my mug today is Door County Red Velvet Mocha. Really looking forward to some family time at the end of the week. I foresee the possibility of some snow tubing as well as a little hunting.

Have you ever thought to yourself after hearing or reading a comment from someone else "why don't they think before they speak"?

Actually the Bible has a lot to say on that subject.

Proverbs15:28
The heart of the righteous studies how to answer,
But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil.

God expects His children to be slow to speak and study their answer before speaking. I believe that this also implies that once studied it might be best to not comment at all. I believe that many uncomfortable situations or blowups could be avoided if people would think before they speak.

James 1:19
19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

Maybe you are the one who spouts off before thinking and your mouth causes anxiety for others. God sees that as evil.

Tomorrow we will continue looking at our habits of speech.  So until then. Have a great day.
