Giving It That Little Extra 11/19/2014

Good Morning,

Oh Friday where are you? I am enjoying a big cup of Door County Christmas Coffee today as I sit at the desk writing to all of you. I consider it all joy to remember you in prayer. Some of us have never met, maybe we will some day here on Earth, or in Heaven. We will have much to talk about.

Proverbs 21:5New Living Translation (NLT)
Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity,
but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

As we were laying out a spread of duck decoys this weekend my partner said to me, "this was a little extra work to put out more decoys and arrange the spread. But hard work with a good plan will usually pay off." He was correct and we were able to attract some ducks that eventually made it to our frying pans. Our plan to put forth more effort paid off.

I wonder how many people approach the work day, their marriage, their children, their church, their home, with a half of a plan and then barely put forth an effort to see the plan through? Or worse yet, they quit before completing their plan when faced with a little opposition. It takes pressure to take coal and turn it into a diamond. It takes extreme heat to refine gold.

A friend of mine always said "any job big or small, do it right or not at all."

How are you going to approach the day? Can you give it "that little extra"?

Love to all,
Marty
