This morning has a full schedule of events today. A little hunting, a little car repair, a little stop in the office and then finally home I go! So of course the morning will start with a little Door County Christmas Coffee and an apple cider donut.
I started to make Italian pasta sauce on Saturday. It was a new recipe that calls for fresh tomatoes if you had them. I used some frozen tomatoes that we put up a couple months ago from our garden. That was blessing number one for the day.
Hebrews 6:7New International Version (NIV)
7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.
The second blessing came from a neighbor. We had performed a plumbing favor in the early fall for her and she made us a big batch of garlic bread and lasagna in return. There was way too much garlic bread to eat so we vacuum sealed it and froze it. We thawed it out and it was added to the feast last night. We never intended to receive a gift as a thank you. But I guess the favor went full circle and we were blessed twice from her huge gift.
Mark 12:31
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The third blessing was to be able to spend time with our grandson and have the three of us dine together. How nice it was to be together.
Proverbs 17:6New International Version (NIV)
6 Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
I think we all can take some time to count our blessings. It only took a couple minutes for God to show me all that He provided. We are blessed and I am truly thankful.
Happy Monday,
Marty
