My Door County Cherry Crème Coffee is brewing and filling the house with a sweet aroma. This is a day I have been looking forward to. A little field hunting with our grandson Dominick and our Springer Gibbs.
For the next few days I would like to take a look at some of my favorite old Gospel Hymns. Today I would like to share the words from "Softly and Tenderly". By Will Thompson
- Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.
- Refrain:
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
- Refrain:
- Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me? - Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me. - Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
Mark 10:49New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call for him.”So they called out to the blind man, “Cheer up! Get up on your feet! Jesus is calling for you.”
So what do you say? Is Jesus calling softly to you?
God bless,
Marty
