Good Morning,
I just poured a hot cup of Door County Mocha Mint Coffee and after some prayer it is time to write.
Yesterday I surveyed our property to see how much damage was done by the deep freeze this winter and what it will take to get the yard back to life. I also believe that it is time to plant some onions that can tolerate the cold and get started on my vegetables.
I sat down and thought about what else I could plant this year to be used for later next winter. Tomatoes were the first on my list and the jury is still out on what else will be planted. As I day dreamed about biting into a fresh tomato off of our vines this summer, I could not help but to pray that what I plant grows. That thought took me to one of my favorite Bible passages.
Galatians 6:7-8 7.Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that he will also reap. 8. For the one who sows to his own flesh, will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
So I sat a little longer on the tailgate of my truck and pondered what populates my spiritual garden. Lately I have been angry and at times distant in my walk with God. As my rear end embraced the tailgate as a seat, I took stock of my spiritual garden. I have been sowing some anger and in return I received anger. I also sowed lack of contentment so a few things were taken away or broke down earlier than expected. I now realize that my garden has a lot of weeds within my heart.
I used some weed killer on my heart. Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
What's in your garden? Are you reaping from the Spirit or reaping from evil within your heart?
Have a great day!
Marty
