Good Morning,
I just sat down with a hot cup of Door County Hazelnut Crème Coffee and it is time to write.
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name there am I among them.
This day promises to be a busy one for me. Tomorrow we have planned a breakfast for the men at our church and my team of men are doing the cooking and clean up tomorrow. But today, is the day I pick up the supplies and do some of the prep cooking tonight. We have a pretty good plan thought out for our success. They are a small group and ranges in age from a teenager to 90 years old.
There is one thing I know for sure is this. Men like a hot breakfast and they like to meet with other guys over a hot plate of food, stiff coffee, and some hot sauce. Mix in some conversation and you have the start of a good day for all. These events often stir up conversations on God, family, work, and hobbies.
My point for the day is this. Men have lots of responsibilities and that has been this way since the beginning of time. It is good for guys to meet and just share in some food and shoot the breeze with other men. You can't place a price on good fellowship that does not take them away from family and work for too long. Our senior pastor will give a short talk of inspiration and if one guy walks away with a little more hope, peace, or feeling like they count, all the work will be worth it.
Men, don't hesitate to attend events like this. Don't hesitate to open your own home now and then to a breakfast with your buddies. Some of the best times are spent over biscuits and gravy. And once they are old enough to swing a fork, bring your boys. It's never too soon to steer them to manhood.
Have a great day!
Marty
