Good Morning,
This day began with a hot mug of Door County Irish Crème Coffee and now that I am at my desk it is time to write.
Now and then I need to put some eye drops in my right eye to compensate for the eye being dry. I had a retinal repair a few years ago and the dry eye reminds me of the event. I have always been one to protect my eyes from damage if possible. I wear glasses all of the time so eye protection is an easy thing for me to do.
Psalm 119:37 ESV Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
My thought for today is a valid one I guess for both genders. When watching television or trolling through the internet we are constantly bombarded with get rich quick schemes and hammered with advertising on the next best thing since sliced bread. These commercials are designed to stimulate "The I have to have that gland" within us.
When we grocery shop, we should have a list and wear blinders like those worn on a horse who wanders. How many cans of the "Oh that looks good right now" and then sit on the pantry shelf past the expiration date do you have? No one should ever have food that expires. Our eyes drive desires, and should be protected from the world of advertising. Purchase what you need and ask yourself , do I need this or do I just want it?
Our eyes are sensitive to and are driven by the "I need that now gland within us". Protect your wallet. Shop with a list.
Just feeling frugal today.
God bless,
Marty
