If God Is For Us 3/18/2025

 Good Morning,

The old cup was just christened with Door County Cinnamon Hazelnut Coffee and it is time to write.

Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

I will get right to it this morning. Have you ever thought that you just might be a hindrance to God's work.? Now God is almighty and can get along just fine without our help, but when your name pops up to open your home to a dinner for new neighbors, or lead a Bible study, it might just be that God has you right where He wants you. But we refuse to step out of our comfort zone. We put self before the Kingdom's calling. We become our own worst enemy.

We will all be accountable for being a hindrance to sharing God's love and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our feeble mind and selfish heart develops excuses for our lack of willingness to follow God's lead. "I'm too busy." "My house isn't nice enough." "I don't know enough about the Bible." We believe that our excuses are legitimate and should excuse us from a calling. We don't want to rely on the power of God to see what we don't see. We see circumstances and God sees opportunity to show His glory and love to others.    There is a world of difference between our best efforts and the power of God.

We panic and pray for power, knowledge, skills and other gifts to use if we are going to serve Him. Yet God gives us a relationship with Him instead .

He has the power to lead us into service and we can rely on Him. The first step is to forget yourself and just follow. If God brings you to it, He will lead you through it. God already knows your qualifications but if He calls you He will provide all the more you might need.

Food for thought!

Marty
