One Seasoning That Isn't Needed 3/2/2024

 Good Morning,

I poured myself a large, hot cup of Door County Inn Keepers Blend Coffee and it is time for me to get on with this day.

Each day is going to be just what it is and nothing more. We might have a day filled with puppy dogs and unicorns or we might experience a day that is painful and worrisome. No matter the day and what comes from it, the day has arrived and that's all there is to it.

I will be making a pot of split pea soup today and in order for me to achieve what I desire as far as a delicious dinner goes, I need to stick to my recipe that has served me well for many years. I also like pickles, but I would never add a sharp, hot, dill pickle to my soup. It would be a seasoning that just isn't needed in the soup.

Friends no matter the day and it's outcomes it is best not to add to it, the spice of complaints. Complaints just leave an after taste of anger, hurt, or plain old lack of being content. None of which help any day or our emotions.

Philippians 2:14 Do everything without grumbling or complaining.

I can't honestly say that I never complain. But for today I am sincerely going to try not to complain at all. I am not going to sour my day by adding complaints to the mix of it. When I feel myself wanting to complain, I am going to try and say a small prayer for myself or others. Instead of the spice of complaints, I will look to heaven and sweeten the moment by spending it with God.

Food for thought. What's in the kettle of your day?

Marty

Turkey breast and tax preparation. I’ll try not to complain about the taxes and enjoy the yummy meal.
