Good Morning,
The Door County Maple Coffee just finished brewing and I will start this day with a large, hot cup of one of my favorite flavors. It is time to write.
Acts 2:23-24 NIV This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep it's hold on him.
We are currently observing Lent in many parts of the world and within a few weeks Easter Sunday will be upon us. Many will attend church on the Friday before Easter and more crosses than usual are on display. When I see the symbol of the cross, I am reminded that when God developed His plan for sin's atonement and the salvation of all was the death of Christ but most important the plan included the resurrection. In the heart of God, the cross and resurrection were planned before all time. And in that moment, you and I were in His thoughts.
2 Corinthians 5:19 God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Feel unloved? God gave you and I the perfect example of pure love. Love always needs to be expressed. And God did just that. The cross and the resurrection are His expressions of love. And He did this for you and me.
Romans 10:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Food for thought! Think hard. God loves you.
Marty
