Be Fair At Home. Be Fair In Business. 4/3/2020

Good Morning,

No coffee for me today. But If I were to brew a pot it would be some Door County Chocolate Raspberry Truffle to fill my mug. Now it is time to write.

Yesterday was a picture perfect day to be outside. I found that it suited me just fine to take in fresh air and find respite from my quarantine. I kept my social distance and was able to repair our flag pole and enjoy watching the dogs run around. My wife planted seedlings for vegetables and flowers yesterday. She says her garden will be a "Victory Garden" this year

I learned early on that in business it does not fare well for those in charge to show partiality . This was often  difficult to do as it always seemed that some people were  easily favored over others. But yet fairness in all business is of utmost importance. This especially applies to the times that you have the opportunity to award a contract to several who bid on the job or supplies you need. Fair is fair and the one who meets all the criteria of the contract and comes in with the best price in the best time should get the job.

Now moving on to home life. Those with children need to also follow this rule except that each family member isn't applying for work or offering a service to us. Each person in the family is different and possesses different skill levels and giftedness.  Now the rules need to be the same for all, but one child might be most likely to fail just because of who they are. For instance the book worm might not show up on time for dinner. They might be engrossed in their studies. Now the family clown on the other hand might show up late because he or she is just disobedient.  Now when it comes time for praise we cannot hold back the praise from the prodigal kid. We need to praise equally and not judge unfairly. This is hard to do, but it is  just what God expects us to do.

We all sin or have sinned and some of us are worse than others. Yet God equally forgives us because  Jesus washed our sins away with His sacrifice of love. We are equally welcome into the family of God. He shows no partiality,

We must be careful to emulate God in our response to business and our home life.

2 Chronicles 19:7 Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, because for with the Lord our God there is no injustice , or partiality, or bribery.

Food for thought on this Friday.

Marty
