Always Stay Humble And Kind 5/4/2016

Good Morning,

I woke up to the sound of Geese flying very low over the resort where we are staying, only to be surprised to see them landing right outside our window. Two geese feeding on the grass, and a cup of Door County Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee steaming next to me, what a great start to the day!

There is a popular Country Western song hitting the radios these days by Tim McGraw. The song lyrics have been in my head since yesterday. The story is basically a dad giving advice to an older child as he or she heads out away from home. The advice that is repeated is for the grown up child to remember to always stay humble and kind.

I thought about these lyrics and said to my self "Our Heavenly Father does the same for us". God has written down in His Word, reminders for us to always be humble and kind. He sends us into the world with words of wisdom for our success each day.

Ephesians 4:2New International Version (NIV)

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Ephesians 4:32New International Version (NIV)

32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
We are loved by God so much that He gives us advice on how to be happy with ourselves. Yes, being humble and kind is something that we pay forward to others. But the fruit it produces is priceless to our own heart , mind and soul.

Galatians 5:22-23New International Version (NIV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Friends, go ahead and practice these words of wisdom that you might reap the fruits and share the love that God has given to you. The lyrics of the song are for you below. They give some practical ways to always stay humble and kind. I am sure you have many more ideas that you can put into practice to show humility and kindness.

God bless,

Marty

"Humble And Kind"

You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the key's under the mat
Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church 'cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be wasted time
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why
Bitterness keeps you from flyin'
Always stay humble and kind
Know the difference between sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
"I love you" ain't no pick up line so
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When those dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

When it's hot, eat a root beer popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind
Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and
