God bless, your day. May your coffee be hot and sweet. My flavor of the day is Door County Jingle Bell Java.
Luke 2:7King James Version (KJV)
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
I have read through the Bible a few times in my life and two things have stood out to me every time I read them. Jesus was born in a manger. But he did not stay there. He grew up, launched into His calling from the Father and then returned home to heaven. Even if there had been room at the inn, Jesus may have been born there but He never intended to stay in the inn or the manger for His entire time on Earth.
Acts 1:9-12New King James Version (NKJV)
Jesus Ascends to Heaven
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”Jesus came from heaven and returned to heaven. Some day He will return to Earth.
Our life is like a great inn, where we are to stay a day or two, and be gone. What foolishness it is to set our heart upon our inn, and to forget our home.
Some day we will all pass from our inn, a place we were never intended to stay. Our eternal home is to be with God the Father through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our faith in Him.
Oh, that we would spend more time traveling through life with a purpose. The purpose of telling others of the love of the Savior Jesus Christ and living this life as an example of His love. But yet we live as if this inn will never close. We live without looking to our eternal home but concentrating on one that has a definite check out time.
As Christmas approaches let's set our minds on the Baby Jesus. He came to save, serve and love. He left this world better for being here. How about you?
God bless,
Marty
