Good Morning,
I am glad you are here to share in this day with me. You all are loved. I just sat down to a hot cup of Door County Hazelnut Creme Coffee and it is time to write.
This coming Friday our Men's Ministry Team from our church will be hosting our annual steak feed. We had to sit it out last year due to the creepy covid mess. So we are a little rusty in our planning and the price increase in meat and other supplies had us thinking long and hard on how to produce a quality outing at a decent price.
Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance. But everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty
Last night three of us met to discuss and walk through, parking, seating , grill locations and the sound system location. We prayed about the weather, and our ideas. We left in agreement and filled with contentment.
We have been doing these steak feeds for 20 years now and have a pretty good system for doing it. As I said though, we are a little bit rusty in doing anything since covid hit. So the walk through was a good preparation to shake the rust off.
Now for the point of the day. We should always be prepared in all that we do. When it comes to the Lord's work it needs to be done to the best of our abilities. So looking ahead and planning and then discussing the decisions and pathways with guys I trust is the way to go.
Are you prepared to sing, teach, minister, preach, babysit in church every week.? Or do you try wing it and shake the rust off as you go. God's work needs to be done without confusion and grumbling. We need to be prepared when we show up. The same lesson can be applied to our secular jobs and our families. Do you prepare to leave for church on time? Do you teach the kids to think ahead? When you show up to work, do you need a half an hour coffee break at the beginning of your shift? If so, you came to work and weren't prepared for the day ahead.
Think it through. Are you ready?
Marty
So many questions while this coffee is trying to get me started!
