Good Morning,
May this day find you at peace with your neighbors and family. I just poured a hot cup of Door County Raspberry Almond Coffee and not it is time to write.
Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
I was up early this morning as usual and headed outside straight to a chore. Our weather forecast is for the temperatures to be extremely hot. Just a week ago my wife Rene and I were covering the plants to avoid frost damage. So goes the weather in Wisconsin.
Rene works hard to make our flower gardens look like something from a catalog. She just finished with the last of the planting on Tuesday. Last night she remarked that our main flower garden is full on, direct sunlight and it won't take much for the garden to bake in the sun. We have some work to do at church today for a Men's Steak Feed tonight so she said to me last night. "Can I break away to give some water to these baby plants tomorrow." I fully know that losing her garden so early in the year would be a blow to her. Some of those plants were started in the kitchen back in March. So this morning before sunrise, I watered her gardens a little bit knowing that the early water will help curb the heat. And she won't be out in the sun saving her garden.
She will be waking up soon and know that she was thought of and her gardens were more important than bacon and eggs.
It's the little things we can do for one another that are important. Today, look around you and watch. Someone might just need a cool drink to subside their thirst on a hot day. Others might need a kind word or help carrying a load. Doing things for others without being asked sends a message of concern, compassion and love.
May your eyes and hearts be opened today as you watch for a kind deed to do.
God bless,
Marty
