Oh man! Friday is here and I feel like we all deserve it. I raise my mug of Door County Dublin's Delight Coffee in salute to God's gift called Friday.
I was tossing some spare change into what we call the "money mug". We toss all of our spare change into it during the week and then on our weekly bank day, we deposit the cash into a bank account that was set up a long time ago to be a blessing to someone later in their life.
For two weeks though we decided to save the money and use it to bless someone immediately. The total ended up being twelve dollars in coins. We are back to saving the money for the purpose it was meant for many years ago. But this experiment proved to be fun and a blessing to others.
We both prayed about what we would do with the twelve dollars to bless others. There are so many things people can do with twelve dollars. One idea is to leave a larger tip with someone who served you. Who ever tips the electrician? How about a tip and a note of thanks with a Bible verse? How about a larger tip for a struggling waitress or waiter? How about buying a stranger a cup of coffee and then saying "have a great day"? One could save the money and give it to the next homeless person they run across. How about filling a parking meter for the person waiting for your spot? So many chances will be presented to you when you ask God to show you what He would do with twelve dollars
Jeremiah 33:3New International Version (NIV)
3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Let God be your imagination for a moment with some spare change today.
God bless.
Marty
