Watching The Sky 6/8/2016

Good Morning.

Here we go Wednesday! Let's get going and see what the day has in store for us. I know my day started with a prayer and a big cup of Door County Blueberry Cobbler Coffee. Now that is a winner in any book.

Acts 1:7:11

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Our dog Gibbs is an intense little Springer Spaniel. Like most hunting dogs who retrieve, they are always looking forward to that nest duck who will be fooled by the decoys, tricked by the duck call and crazy enough to get within shot gun range. They watch the sky for anything that moves. Gibbs often sees the birds before I do. he watches the sky because he knows that is where the duck or goose will come from. He expects at any moment a duck or goose will appear. He hopes for nothing less than that opportunity to see that duck coming in. He does this even when sitting in our yard. He intently watches for birds. It's like he is trying to be ready just in case it is hunting season.

The Bible promises that Jesus will return in the sky, just the same way He left earth. It does not say when, but we are to expect His return and we should be prepared for that day. Jesus said "I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No one comes unto the Father except by Me."  We need to have Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He invites us to Him in a love relationship.

Matthew 11:28-29New King James Version (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

We should be anticipating the Lord's return and be ready to go with Him. We just need to answer the invitation. Are you warching and waiting?
God Bless,

Marty
