Is The Light Bright Enough? 6/21/2016

Good Morning,

I started this day with prayer and a hot cup of Door County Cinnamon Sugar Buns Coffee. It has all the makings of a nice day.

Rene and I are heading into the last portions of the kitchen remodel. I spent most of Sunday installing new lighting. It was a little bit of a chore, but not too bad. One of our main goals was to increase the lighting level in the kitchen. We were able to add more lumens to the area with a three lamp fixture pictured above and that ended up working perfectly. It always seemed as if the kitchen was a little dim.

Matthew 5:14-16New International Version (NIV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

I wonder if we ever look into the mirror and ask ourselves if the love of Christ shows brightly enough in our lives? Is the lamp of love and compassion a little dim? We are the light of the world to lead others to Jesus, show his love, His compassion and His humility. Do we project enough Spiritual lumens to even shine a little light to a dim path?

If not, we need to re-lamp our Spiritual fixture by praying and getting into God's Word. We need some Bible time and a closer walk with Jesus. That renewed mind and spirit will light the way for others for sure.

Shine on!

Marty
