Would You Hire You? 8/1/2023

 Good Morning,

The Door County German Chocolate Cake Coffee is ready and waiting for me to finish writing. The aroma is almost calling me to the kitchen.

A man who was a mentor to me in my professional career was teaching me a principle once. It was this, "always look to hire a person that says if they were doing the hiring would they hire themselves. Then watch their eyes to see if they look away while answering. Then during their probationary period watch and see if they treat this days performance as evidence that they would want to be hired every day." In other words would they work today in a way that would make you want to hire them tomorrow, and again and again?

Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit. But mere talk leads to poverty.

Then make sure you set the example. Wow working today as if you were going to ask for work tomorrow. That is a great work ethic and a powerful statement.

Many new graduates have entered the work force and with job opportunities quite abundant, it is still a good work ethic to work like tomorrow's hiring depended upon it. If after a month of working, would your boss still hire you?

Food for thought.

Marty
