When The Snow Is On The Pumpkin 11/1/2019

Good Morning,

There is a hot cup of Door County Vanilla Creme Coffee next to me. Two English Springer Spaniels are munching on a rawhide treat and it is time to write.

I started drinking my coffee in our snow covered back yard. More snow is expected for today.  This is a first for me. Tonight our Church Men's Ministry is holding it's annual Men's Steak Feed. It is an outreach and fellowship event. The men will come and grill a large steak for themselves and add some beans, a baked potato and garlic bread to their plates. Once dinner is complete a gifted speaker will address the men delivering a message on Jesus and life. I can't even recall how many years we have been dong this event. But it has always been blessed by the Holy Spirit with Kingdom outcomes every year.

But this is the first year where snow has shown up to the cook out. We hold this event every year on the same weekend. Winter arrived early and and it arrived hard. I stepped outside this morning and the fall pumpkins my wife placed outside on the porch had a new white hat.

The snow will not stop the Steak Feed as a matter of fact it gives us something more to talk about and the pictures will be different for the first time. We found a blessing in the snowfall. The cold weather has provided a natural refrigerator for our barrels of Root Beer. Those bad boys will be chilled outside. No expense on ice!!! We might need to make more coffee!

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but all come to repentance.

Matthew 18:20 Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, I am there with them.

What inspiration can you find in this message? Men will hear the Gospel message of Jesus Christ tonight. They will fellowship in a safe and wholesome environment. Fathers and sons will attend together. Friendships will be made anew and 200 men will be singing Amazing Grace at the end.  Most of all we will experience the presence of God and some lives will be changed. God will be praised and this is done for His glory and honor.  His will be done, despite the weather.

God bless,

Marty
